In December prior to leaving for break, the Board of Directors elected 2 new board members to fill 2 vacanices on our Board of Directors. I am proud to introduce these two parents to you have put a lot of time and heart into Manara and are excited for the opportunity to continue the growth. Help me in welcoming them to the Leadership of Manara.
Sarah Saleem Sarah is a working mother of two perfect children and wife of Karam Saleem, who always makes her laugh. She has over 15 years of experience in telecommunications and currently works as Sr. Director of Business Development for Insider Marketing, a technology marketing agency. She experiences expeditionary learning through her 2nd grader’s detailed conversations about Stephen F. Austin, the father of Texas, and numerous quiz questions he asks her about our state and every expedition. Her husband, parents, sister and herself are believers in the effectiveness and value of expeditionary learning and welcome the opportunity to help Manara Academy grow and inspire our children “To Be the Pinnacle of Knowledge, Character, Ethics and Community Building.” Faisal Shaikh Faisal is a Principal in Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy and Operations practice and has been with Deloitte for 11 years. He has broad financial, business and technology knowledge and project management experience, gained in several different industries and countries. His experience includes strategy development, operating governance design, program management, business process improvement and organization redesign / transition. Faisal earned his Chartered Accountant designation and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from McGill University. Faisal grew up in Montreal, Quebec and after spending the past several years living outside of Philadelphia, recently moved to Irving, Texas with his wife, Sabina and four children, Amina, Wali Hasan, Lina and Zahra. |
