Vision: It is the Vision of Manara Academy to be “The Pinnacle of Knowledge, Character, Ethics and Community Building.” Number of Students: 460 Expeditionary Learning School: Manara is the only school in Texas to use EL, offering equal emphasis on intellectual and character development. How does Manara use Expeditionary Learning (EL)? Through the use of Expeditionary Learning, Manara inspires the motivation of our students to learn, engages the teachers, takes students to new levels of focus and effort and transforms our students, parents and teachers to become leaders of their own thinking. Our teachers provide a model that challenges student at all skill levels with high level tasks and active roles in the classroom. High School-Preparatory Program: for all students in Kindergarten through 8 through the use of Expeditionary Learning Charter School: Autonomy of a Private School with the Accountability of a Public School Tuition: free tuition to all students admitted by lottery Foreign Language: One of the only charter schools to provide foreign language instruction to all students beginning in Kindergarten. Manara currently offers: Arabic and French Extended School Day: 8:00 am – 6:30 pm

After-School Activities: Basketball, Building Club, Chess, Choir, Community Service, Dance, Karate, School Ambassador’s Program, Spelling Bee, Soccer Facilities: playground, soccer field, two gymnasiums, dining hall in middle school Daily Attendance: 97% average Parent Engagement: Parents are asked to contribute a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service to Manara Academy.
