Manara Academy

On behalf of the Manara Academy Board of Directors, I would like to share some exciting news with you all. After an extensive national search, I would like to introduce and welcome Mr. Len Stevens to our family as the new Superintendent of Manara Academy (please see the attached picture for Mr. Stevens). Mr. Stevens has a wealth of experience and passion, and we are excited about the future of Manara Academy under his leadership, particularly as we continue to strive for academic and operational excellence.

Mr. Stevens is joining us from the Plano Independent School District (Plano ISD),which is one of the top performing school districts in the state of Texas. Mr. Stevens has served as an administrator for the Plano ISD since 1996, and most recently served as Principal at Huffman Elementary. Some of the highlights of Mr. Stevens distinguished career and track record of achievements include:

The first graders of Manara Academy will showcase their learning today over our expedition "Forces of Nature".  Throughout this expedition the students have studied the affects that natural disasters can have on communities.  We never imagined such a tragedy as yesterday would occur.

We would like to dedicate our "Forces of Nature" Expedition to all the families and victims of yesterday's tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma. Our hearts are with all the the children and staff at Briarwood Plaza Elementary School. We want to help the families and victims so we have set up a site for you to donate. On Thursday, March 28th, Manara Academy had a celebrity visitor...Meteorologist Greg Fields!  Greg Fields is featured daily on the Channel 8 Daybreak News.  Manara had the unique opportunity of welcoming Mr. Fields to talk to our 1st and 3rd graders about weather and weather safety.  The kids had a blast and enjoyed hearing Mr. Fields describe forms of weather, how weather is created and displaying his artistic abilities.
