Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, This week, 5th & 8th grade will be taking their Science STAAR on Tuesday (April 23) and 8th grade will be taking their Social Studies STAAR on Wednesday (April 24). The campus will be closed to visitors on those days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. I'm so very proud of our scholar's progression this school year and their efforts during testing time. Thank you for making sure they are prepared to test on their testing days and for bringing them to school on time each day (by 8:00am). Our Manara 5K event is being postponed due to the likelihood of severe weather tomorrow. The new date is Sunday, May 5, in Irving from 8:00am until 12:00pm. Manara Academy wishes to prioritize participant and student safety. Therefore, the Manara 5K - Run for Gaza has been postponed due to the predictions of inclement weather in our area. We are excited to inform that the 5K-Run for Gaza has been rescheduled to Sunday, May 5, 2024. Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, Our last 6 week period of the 2023-2024 school year is upon us and STAAR testing is here! This week, 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Reading STAAR on Tuesday (April 16) and Wednesday (April 17). Next week, 5th & 8th grade will be taking their Science STAAR on Tuesday (April 23) and 8th grade will be taking their Social Studies STAAR on Wednesday (April 24). The following week 3rd-8th grade students will be taking their Math STAAR tests on Tuesday (April 30) and Wednesday (May 1). The campus will be closed to visitors on those days, so please call Ms. Tabatha if you have any questions or need assistance. Please make sure your scholar arrives to school on time (by 8:00am), as when arriving late, they miss important beginning of the day lessons. It is most important on the STAAR testing days that scholars are in their classrooms by 8:00am, as missing testing directions can affect the testing environment. At the conclusion of the newsletter in the "Upcoming Events" section, dates are added through the end of the school year for important events. Good afternoon, PK4 through 3rd grade STEM families! Today your scholar will be coming home with a field study permission slip and information about our upcoming field study to the Fort Worth Zoo. Please fill out and return the "Parent Permission" form to your scholar's teacher by April 5. If you would like to chaperone, please fill out the packet that your scholar will also bring home today and attach a copy of your driver's license to the form so we can complete the volunteer background check. The payment for the field study is ONLINE ONLY, so please refer to the note coming home today as to how to proceed with the payment. Happy Diagnosticians Week! Manara Recognizes the work of ours and we appreciate all you do for students!

Good afternoon, STEM Families! Our Family Fun Event will be tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5 from 4:00 - 5:30. Dr. Seuss station themed games and crafts will take place, as well as the PTO will be selling nachos and snack items. Come hungry and ready for a lot of fun reading-themed activities! Arlington Charities Mobile Food Pantry will also be here, so fill out the information on the link below if you have not already to sign up to receive FREE GROCERIES (only those families who fill out the information on the link can participate)! Happy Friday Manara STEM Families, This week TELPAS testing will continue for our ESL/EB students in grades 2-8 in the areas of Listening & Speaking. All ESL/EB students have access to Summit K-12 to practice, which mimics the TELPAS testing platform, which can also be practiced at home. Reach out to your child's teacher as to how you can help with the practice from home! Parents of scholars in grades 3-8, would you like a platform where your child can practice more activities in reading, writing, or math? Read within the newsletter a contest through the month of March that our Paper app is hosting (scholars have access through Clever). With completing "Paper Three-Pointers" scholars can be entered to win amazing prizes as well! What a great opportunity for fun AND learning!
