We are thrilled to announce and introduce our new principal, ​M​s. Kimberly Dillard, who will be joining ​M​anara STEM Academy starting ​today, July 8, 2024. ​M​s. Dillard brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a passion for education that aligns perfectly with our district's commitment to excellence. ​M​s. Dillard has ​over 20 years of experience in education, having served in various capacities such as teacher, ​instructional coach, assistant principal,​ and principal. ​H​er most recent position was a​s principal for the Ministry of Education in Abu Dhabi, where ​she implemented innovative programs, improved student performance, fostered a positive school culture​. Throughout ​her career,​ Ms. Dillard has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. ​She is known for ​her collaborative leadership style, ability to connect with students, staff, and parents, and ​h​er unwavering focus on student achievement and well-being. In ​h​er new role at ​M​anara STEM Academy, ​M​s. Kimberly Dillard is eager to build on the school's successes and work closely with all members of the school community to continue driving academic excellence and holistic development for every student. Congratulations to Mr. Rabbani, Ms. Mehrabi, Mr. Adams, Ms. Jamodu, Ms. Linzey, Mr. Febre, and Mrs. MacFarland for your outstanding contributions to the Manara STAAR results and outcomes, student outcomes and school progress. Good morning, Manara STEM families. Due to the weather and two hour delay this morning, our end of year awards assemblies for 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th grades will be moved to Friday, May 31. 4th & 5th grade will be at 8:30am, and 6th & 7th grade will be at 10:00am, both on May 31st. Manara Academy will be operating on a 2 hour delay today due to the high winds and storms passing through our area this morning. There are several power outages in the area, rain and hail. We are prioritizing student safety. School will begin today at 10:00 a.m. 5/28/24.

Happy Memorial Day, families! It is officially the last week of the 2023-2024 school year! Please read within the newsletter the grade level ceremony times for this week. Scholars ARE allowed to dress out of uniform for their grade level ceremony. Please come and celebrate each scholar's success during the ceremonies this week. We look forward to recognizing each scholar for their hard work this school year. Good afternoon, Manara STEM families! Tomorrow, May 23, will be field day for all students on our campus. Students do NOT have to wear uniform tomorrow and will be given their field day t-shirt upon arrival . Students must also wear tennis shoes, as some of the activities will entail active movement, so tennis shoes are a must. All students will be given a hot dog (halal) lunch with chips, cookies, water, and a snow cone treat during the event. The activities start at 8:30am, with a lunch & movie break from 11:30-1:30, and activities will conclude by 3:20pm. Due to the possibility of rain tomorrow, all activities for students in grades PK3 through 3rd grade will be moved indoors, and all afternoon activites for 4th - 8th grade will be indoors (if weather allows, a few activites for the upper grades will be outside). Parents are welcome to attend and can travel with their child to their designated field day stations. If attending, please come in through the front entrance with your ID and you will be Raptored into our system and given your sticker. Good Afternoon, Manara STEM Families, It was wonderful to see everyone at our last Family Fun Cultural Event this past Tuesday! We had over 100 families attending, with a FULL parking lot!! Thank you for coming and celebrating the many cultures, foods, and festivities. It was a beautiful event! There are only two more weeks left in the 2023-2024 school year! This week we have some important items to focus on: -Chromebook collection in grades 3-8 -Field Day on Thursday, May 23 -8th grade graduation ceremony on Friday, May 24 -12th grade graduation ceremony in Irving on Friday, May 24 at 6:00pm All grade level ceremony times and further information about this week's events are detailed within the newsletter. Mental Health 101

Good morning, Manara STEM families! This afternoon is our last Family Fun Event - Cultures Around the World - from 4pm until 6pm. Please plan on attending to "travel" to all the beautiful places where students have created projects featuring cultures such as Moroco, Portugal, Australia, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, and many more! Also, if you have a cultural food dish you would like to bring to share, please bring it to the cafeteria by 4:30pm. Enjoy projects, cultural food, and a fashion show featuring students wearing clothing from their countries. And remember, Arlington Charities will also be here, so sign up (if you have not already done so) to receive your free groceries! We look forward to seeing you this afternoon!

Good Morning, Manara STEM Families, This week we have our final Family Fun Event - Cultural Night! Please come join us on Tuesday, May 14 from 4pm-6pm to enjoy this event! See within the newsletter all the activities of that afternoon. Please bring a cultural dish to share, as we will have a cultural potluck FEAST, along with a cultural wear fashion show, to conclude the event.
